Petronella Andersson fell from her horse during Thursday's Grand Prix qualifier at Falsterbo Horse Show. She was taken by ambulance to hospital.
The accident occurred when Andersson’s horse Hexode Ste Hermelle jumped too early at an obstacle. They crashed straight into the fence and the rider was thrown off.
“She is dazed and has hit her head but her condition is stable”, writes Matilda Hjertstrand, press chief at the Swedish Equestrian Federation.
Team captain Henrik Ankarcrona must call in a replacement for Friday’s team jumping. He says he assumes she will receive the best possible care.
