Architect Matías Tabar testified on Monday before prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita that Cabinet Chief Manuel Adorni paid him 245,000 dollars in cash for renovations on his Indio Cuá country house home, without issuing invoices. The works spanned from October 2024 to May 2025 and included a pool, galleries, and a waterfall. Adorni rejected the amount and the Government denied it.
In the illicit enrichment case against Manuel Adorni, architect Matías Tabar, partner at Alta Arquitectura, testified for three hours as a witness at Comodoro Py. He stated that Adorni handed him 245,000 dollars in cash for renovations on the Indio Cuá property, bought by his wife Bettina Angeletti on November 15, 2024. "No invoice of any kind was issued," judicial sources said.
The works remodeled the pool, galleries, furniture, and installed a waterfall. Tabar rejected Adorni's WhatsApp offer of legal advice and handed over his phone for examination, as some conversations were deleted. His lawyer advised him to "tell the truth".
Adorni, in a press conference that same Monday, rejected the amount: "That is not the amount. We will likely request an appraisal because anyone who knows my house knows it is not worth that money," according to elDiarioAR. The Government also denied it. Adorni stated there were no concealments in his assets or third-party funded expenses.
The case covers estimated total spending of 800,000 dollars since December 2023, with undocumented debts. Lawmaker Marcela Pagano filed related complaints that day.
