Atomic Mass Games has revealed Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances, a new cooperative beat-em-up board game set in the Marvel: Crisis Protocol universe. The initial release, Night of the Goblin, features Spider-verse heroes battling the Green Goblin. The studio also shared updates on its leadership and product focus.
Atomic Mass Games announced Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances during a recent livestream, introducing a new arcade-style beat-em-up for 1-4 players. This cooperative board game allows players to select favorite heroes for sessions lasting 90-120 minutes. The debut expansion, Night of the Goblin, centers on Ghost-Spider (Spider-Gwen), Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Black Cat, and Ultimate Spider-Man (Miles Morales) facing off against the Green Goblin and his forces in a chaotic New York scenario.
The game incorporates new miniatures using the F.A.S.T. Mini Assembly system, which are push-fit and require no glue. These miniatures come in pre-dyed plastic, ready for immediate play without painting. The set includes numerous miniatures, such as Green Goblin minions, and features intuitive player dashboards. It uses the same dice and scale as the original Marvel: Crisis Protocol, with confirmed compatibility between the two games, allowing miniatures to be interchanged without issues.
A release is targeted for late summer or early fall 2026, with September as the goal. The livestream showcased the full board and unpainted miniatures, and teased future content like a Sentinel mission.
In studio news, Atomic Mass Games appointed Co-Heads of Studio Will Shick and Brandon Anderson. Star Wars: Legion and Marvel: Crisis Protocol are designated flagship titles receiving enhanced focus, including new sub-factions, gameplay expansions like Skirmish Mode and Full Scale War modes for Legion, and consistent product expansions for Crisis Protocol. Star Wars: Shatterpoint will transition to a specialist core game line to ensure availability and streamline releases.
