Book on Adwa's modern glory launched in Addis Ababa

A book titled 'Adwa: The Contemporary Glory of Ethiopians and the Testimony of the Womb' was launched today at the Adwa Victory Commemoration in Addis Ababa. Written by Dr. Ashagre G/eweldd, it explores the history and modern relevance of the Battle of Adwa. The event drew high-level officials and intellectuals.

On Katit 28, 2018 E.C. (Gregorian March 7, 2026), a book titled 'Adwa: The Contemporary Glory of Ethiopians and the Testimony of the Womb' was launched at the Adwa Victory Commemoration site in Addis Ababa. Authored by Dr. Ashagre G/eweldd, the volume spans 26 chapters and exceeds 1,000 pages, detailing the historical and modern significance of the Battle of Adwa.

President Taye Atske Sillasie attended the launch. She commended the book for capturing the splendor of Adwa and the studies of forebears. 'In this book, our cherished splendor of Adwa's victory, the studies of our fathers, and other documented truths are reflected,' she stated.

Kntiba Adanech Abiebie and Afe Gubae Tageze Chapo also participated, emphasizing efforts to pass down history to future generations. Attendees included senior government officials, military personnel, guests, religious leaders, and intellectuals.

The book aims to foster Ethiopian identity by practically demonstrating national pride and honoring sacrifices, promoting a stronger, united Ethiopia.
