Buenaventura begins gradual water service restoration

After seven days of disruptions, Buenaventura began the recovery process for its potable water supply following repair of the main pipeline.

The Sociedad de Acueducto, Alcantarillado y Aseo de Buenaventura completed welding works and reactivated the system from the Planta de Tratamiento de Escalerete. Restoration will be gradual and may take up to seven hours to begin filling the network.

Full system normalization could require up to 72 hours, while complete supply is estimated within a maximum of five days. The Gobernación del Valle del Cauca maintains technical and logistical support during the process.

The Puesto de Mando Unificado remains active and distributes water via tankers in sectors that still need it until the service stabilizes.
