Water cut to affect eight Santiago communes starting Friday

Aguas Andinas announced a scheduled water outage affecting sectors of eight communes in the Santiago metropolitan region from Friday, May 22 to Sunday, May 24.

The interruption will begin Friday at 20:00 and last 36 hours, with service expected to resume Sunday at 08:00. The measure responds to renewal work on the Paralelo Tramo Trinidad aqueduct and reinforcement of more than 13 kilometers of distribution network.

The company said the works will benefit nearly 143,000 customers in El Bosque, La Cisterna, La Florida, La Granja, La Pintana, San Bernardo, San Miguel and San Ramón. Tasks will take place at night and over the weekend to minimize disruption.

Local authorities, led by Superintendencia de Servicios Sanitarios head Jorge Rivas and Governor Claudio Orrego, activated an intersectoral contingency plan. Rivas noted that compliance with deadlines and support delivery to those affected will be supervised.
