Bureau head Ato Andriw Tut said the 2018/19 irrigated crop production cultivated over 180,000 hectares, yielding more than 5.8 million quintals for distribution. Officials appreciated the focus on these products.
Beans stand out as a key crop bolstering food security, alongside sesame, maize, rice, and other cereals receiving attention. Agricultural projects are underway across the region's nine zones to cultivate planned land during the production season.
With the goal of supplying all farmers with seeds, intensive efforts are being made. To enhance irrigated agriculture effectiveness, farm inputs are distributed, and training provided to administrators and experts, the bureau told Fana Digital.
