Kilifi leaders unite to confront criminal gangs

Residents of Kilifi County continue to live in fear as criminal groups threaten safety, businesses and tourism. Leaders have held a security meeting to strengthen operations against the gangs.

Governor Gideon Mung’aro led the meeting alongside Coast Region Police Commander Ali Nuno. MPs Owen Baya and Amina Mnyazi joined decisions to boost security operations in affected areas including Malindi, Gede, Kakuyuni, Mayungu and Mtwapa.

Mung’aro said the county government is committed to working with security agencies to restore calm. He stressed the need to educate residents on the role of police in communities.

Baya said robust strategies have been set to confront criminals and that resident safety remains the priority. Jumwa noted that security operations will continue without hindrance and that the law will take its course against those involved.
