A fight erupted between Kaizer Chiefs officials and Orlando Pirates security personnel before the match began. Once underway, both teams attacked aggressively from the start, but the first half remained goalless.
Kaizer Chiefs took the lead in the 62nd minute through Pule Mmodi. Orlando Pirates' Relebohile Mofokeng was stopped by Chiefs goalkeeper Petersen shortly after, but Kamogelo Sebelebele levelled the score in the 75th minute.
