The highly anticipated Soweto Derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs ended in a 1-1 draw after Pirates came from behind. The game, part of the Betway Premiership, faced a 45-minute delay as only 60% of fans had entered the stadium less than 20 minutes before the scheduled kick-off.
A fight erupted between Kaizer Chiefs officials and Orlando Pirates security personnel before the match began. Once underway, both teams attacked aggressively from the start, but the first half remained goalless.
Kaizer Chiefs took the lead in the 62nd minute through Pule Mmodi. Orlando Pirates' Relebohile Mofokeng was stopped by Chiefs goalkeeper Petersen shortly after, but Kamogelo Sebelebele levelled the score in the 75th minute.
