Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Roman Wilson is showing improved confidence as he enters his third NFL season. Teammates and quarterback Aaron Rodgers have expressed optimism about his potential during upcoming training camp.
DK Metcalf highlighted changes in Wilson's approach, noting his increased confidence and energy on the field. “Just his confidence. The way he attacks the field every day. He’s smiling. He’s bouncing around. He’s attacking every route. He’s not second-guessing himself,” Metcalf said.
Rodgers also offered support, stating that Wilson showed strong tape and had a productive spring. “I expect him to start to make some splash plays he did in the spring. And I expect him to have a nice camp,” Rodgers said.
Wilson, a third-round pick from the 2024 draft, recorded 12 receptions for 166 yards and two touchdowns in his first two seasons. He was a healthy scratch for four of the team's final five games last year.
Wilson is expected to compete with rookie Germie Bernard for the No. 3 receiver role behind Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. during camp.
