Supersociedades calls hearing to confirm OMA and Presto reorganization

Colombia's Superintendencia de Sociedades has called a hearing on April 20, 2026, to confirm reorganization agreements for Restcafé and Franquicias y Concesiones, operators of the OMA and Presto brands. The deals, filed late March, won strong creditor backing and aim to restructure over 200 billion pesos in debt.

Colombia's Superintendencia de Sociedades issued orders 2026-01-151067 and 2026-01-151056 to schedule the confirmation hearing. These follow the promoter's filing of reorganization agreements between March 31 and April 1, 2026. Franquicias y Concesiones secured 82% favorable votes, while Restcafé got 76%.

At the hearing, the contest judge will review the agreements' legality and check for social security obligations and mandatory withholdings before potential approval.

The plans target liabilities of about 114 billion pesos for Restcafé and 104 billion for Franquicias y Concesiones amid their insolvency proceedings.

"The agreement exemplifies how the business insolvency regime preserves key productive units and protects jobs," said Billy Escobar, superintendent of Societies. He added the entity's commitment to Colombia's business fabric stability.

The process began nearly three years ago, with admission to reorganization on May 29, 2023, under Law 1116. Firms faced adverse conditions like high interest rates, inflation, and demand drops. Presto held 5.1% of the burger market and OMA 4% in coffee shops, aiming to sustain operations and jobs.
