TDP chairman says TPLF remains source of Tigray suffering

Tigray Democratic Party chairman Dr Aregawi Berhe stated that the illegal TPLF group continues to cause centuries of suffering for the Tigray people.

In Addis Ababa on Hamle 7 2018 Dr Aregawi Berhe said the TPLF has created obstacles to implementing the Pretoria Peace Agreement since its founding by attempting to solve problems through armed means.

He noted that the group is closing peaceful political options forming an alliance with Shabia and forcibly dismantling the regional interim administration.

These actions hinder relief for the Tigray people and expose them to displacement severe poverty and anxiety he said.

The chairman added that the group abducts Tigray youth to military camps and sells them to Shabia and Sudan for income.

He urged Tigray people and the diaspora to work together to stop the group's destructive path and called on international institutions to expose its actions.
