Valeo launches new AI R&D center in Egypt

Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with Valeo CEO Christophe Périllat to discuss the company's expanding R&D presence. The new AI-focused center aims to integrate artificial intelligence into next-generation mobility solutions, starting with 35 engineers and plans to grow beyond 100. This underscores Egypt's push to become a regional hub for automotive software and AI.

The meeting took place at the government headquarters in Egypt's New Administrative Capital, focusing on Valeo's new AI-focused R&D center for mobility applications.

Prime Minister Madbouly stressed that the information and communications technology sector is a central pillar of Egypt's development strategy. He highlighted government efforts to localize advanced technologies and foster innovation in automotive engineering and smart mobility.

Egypt hosts Valeo's largest global R&D hub, where nearly 50% of the company's worldwide software output is developed. Valeo employs over 3,000 engineers there, with more than 10,000 professionals trained over the years, including 47 expert-level engineers and 12 senior experts.

CEO Christophe Périllat stated that Egyptian engineers are central to Valeo's global strategy, praising government support for enabling expansion. Madbouly, recalling a prior visit to Valeo's facilities, commended the professionalism and capabilities of Egyptian engineers.
