The Atlanta Falcons introduced their new primary uniforms for the 2026 NFL season on Thursday, bringing back red jerseys at home for the first time since 2019. The design features updated numbers and pants options, while keeping the throwback set intact. Team president Matt Ryan praised the return of red as a nod to the franchise's history.
The Falcons' home jerseys are now red with a 'Falcons' script across the chest. Road uniforms feature white tops reading 'Atlanta,' paired with black or white pants that include four-tone stripes. A new number typeface incorporates an angular 'wing tip' on each digit, and the primary helmet swaps a brushed nickel face mask for silver. Players Drake London, Bijan Robinson, A.J. Terrell, and Jalon Walker modeled the looks, from all-white road to black-pant road ensembles. Nike Swoosh and Falcons logos appear on shoulders and sleeves. The popular throwback uniforms, including red helmets, remain available for up to four regular-season games. Matt Ryan, the former quarterback now serving as president of football operations, highlighted the significance of red. 'Red has always meant something different in Atlanta. It's when our best football has been played, where this city has shown its heart, and when I experienced the greatest moments of my career,' Ryan said in a team release. 'When you put on red, you feel the history, the pride, and the energy that comes with being a Falcon.' This marks the second uniform refresh in six years, following a previous set criticized for drop shadows, 'ATL' chest lettering, and a futuristic font. NFL rules allow primary uniform changes only once every five years.
