Authorities in San Bernardino, California, are searching for 20-year-old Elvia Johnson, accused of shooting and killing 19-year-old Niliyah Montgomery after a street fight. The incident occurred on February 1, when Montgomery, a single mother, was walking back to her home. Johnson faces a homicide warrant and is considered armed and dangerous.

On February 1, around 5 p.m., a fight broke out involving multiple people on the 1600 block of Concord Street in San Bernardino, California. The altercation took place outside the home of 19-year-old Niliyah Montgomery, though the cause remains unclear. As the fight appeared to end, Montgomery began walking back into her house.

According to the San Bernardino Police Department, 20-year-old Elvia Johnson then entered a vehicle and fired a single gunshot that struck Montgomery in the back. The victim ran to her mother, Tasha Montgomery, who recounted the moment to local news outlets: "My baby come running into my arms saying, 'Mom.' With blood coming out her mouth."

Tasha Montgomery described her daughter as her firstborn and the reason she became a mother, adding, "She was everything to me." Niliyah, a single mother to a 3-year-old girl, had reportedly returned to school to improve her life after dropping out during her pregnancy.

Officers responded to the scene, and Montgomery was transported to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Johnson, who has an outstanding arrest warrant, is wanted in connection with the homicide. The police department has urged the public to provide information on her whereabouts, emphasizing that she is armed and dangerous.

San Bernardino lies approximately 60 miles east of Los Angeles. The investigation continues as authorities seek to apprehend the suspect.
