A Federal High Court in Lagos will decide on July 24 whether the NDLEA can destroy a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory discovered in Ogun State. The ruling follows a special sitting held at the site in Mowe village.
Justice Musa Kakaki adjourned the matter after hearing testimony from a prosecution witness on July 21. The NDLEA seeks permission to dismantle facilities allegedly used to produce over 2,400 kilograms of methamphetamine.
Ten defendants, including three Mexican nationals and seven Nigerians, face an 11-count charge related to the laboratory. They all pleaded not guilty when arraigned on July 10.
The court heard that the site in Ijebu East Local Government Area contained large quantities of precursor chemicals. Counsel for the defence raised objections to some exhibits during the proceedings.
