Cundinamarca promotes Christmas routes in towns near Bogotá

Cundinamarca has launched four Christmas routes linking towns near Bogotá, featuring light displays, cultural activities, and fairs for families in December. These plans aim to turn parks and plazas into appealing destinations with lights and local traditions. The department seeks to boost tourism and commerce in the area.

December turns Cundinamarca into a key destination for those seeking Christmas plans without straying far from Bogotá. Main parks, plazas, and historical centers in nearby municipalities light up with decorations and thematic figures, alongside activities for all ages.

This year, the department has organized four routes connecting places like Zipaquirá, Cajicá, Cogua, Nemocón, Mosquera, and Chía. Visitors can enjoy light displays, artisanal nativity scenes, choral concerts, gastronomic fairs, and religious events. These routes enable one- or multi-day outings that blend tourism, tradition, and local commerce support.

In these towns, central parks and pedestrian walkways glow with lights, while the schedule features musical performances, theater plays, and children's activities. Weekends stand out with community novenas, farmers' markets, and nighttime cultural events, drawing more tourists.

Department spokespeople highlight benefits beyond entertainment. “Christmas in Cundinamarca is an opportunity to strengthen local tourism, support entrepreneurs, and provide family gathering spaces,” they state. Through this, Cundinamarca aims to establish itself as a solid destination for families at year-end.
