Il Primo Segretario e Presidente Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez ha incontrato lunedì Le Hoai Trung, membro dell'Ufficio politico del Partito Comunista del Vietnam e ministro degli Affari esteri.

L'incontro si è tenuto presso la sede del Comitato centrale del Partito Comunista di Cuba. Díaz-Canel ha sottolineato gli storici legami di amicizia tra i due paesi, radicati nel rapporto tra Ho Chi Minh e Fidel Castro. Il presidente cubano ha ringraziato per la visita a seguito del 14º Congresso del Partito Comunista del Vietnam e ha menzionato le trasformazioni economiche in corso a Cuba. Ha inoltre denunciato il blocco statunitense e ha chiesto solidarietà internazionale. Le Hoai Trung ha trasmesso i saluti del Segretario Generale To Lam ed ha espresso le sue condoglianze per la scomparsa di Ramiro Valdés Menéndez. Al ricevimento hanno partecipato anche altri leader cubani, tra cui Manuel Marrero Cruz ed Esteban Lazo Hernández.
