The Enforcement Directorate arrested Kolkata Police Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sinha Biswas on Thursday in a money laundering case linked to land grabbing allegations.

ED officials questioned him for several hours before the arrest. Biswas previously served as Officer-in-Charge at Kalighat police station.

The agency had issued multiple summons in the Sona Pappu case which he avoided. A lookout notice was issued to prevent him from leaving the country.

Documents recovered from arrested businessman Joy Kamdar revealed financial transactions involving Biswas. He is expected to be produced in court on Friday.
