Named Neukgu, the wolf was spotted on a small mountain near Daejeon O-World theme park at 10:43 p.m. Monday, according to local firefighting officials. Preparations are under way to capture it.

Neukgu, a young wolf, escaped by digging out of its enclosure at the zoo inside Daejeon O-World theme park last Wednesday morning, prompting an extensive search and media coverage.

The wolf was reported spotted on a small mountain near the theme park at 10:43 p.m. Monday. Search authorities visited the area and confirmed the animal was Neukgu. A photo provided by the Daejeon Fire Headquarter shows the wolf on a road.
