Ethiopia National Bank permits new importers and exporters to access account numbers via one-window service

The National Bank of Ethiopia has permitted new importers and exporters to obtain their bank account numbers through the Ethiopian Customs Commission's one-window service.

The bank announced a new digital service in collaboration with the Ethiopian Customs Commission. The service enables new importers and exporters to receive their National Bank account numbers without administrative hurdles.

The service applies only to institutions obtaining a National Bank account number for the first time. Existing account holders may continue using their current numbers for all import and export transactions.

This measure forms part of the bank's efforts to modernize trade-related services and strengthen digital public service delivery.
