Florida mother arrested for abusing son after cheating accusation

Lucianny Lizbeth Luna, a 32-year-old woman from Miami, faces a child abuse charge after allegedly beating her 12-year-old son when he accused her of cheating on his stepfather. The boy reported injuries to school officials, leading to police involvement. Luna admitted to some strikes but denied others, according to authorities.

Miami-Dade police arrested Lucianny Lizbeth Luna on Thursday following a complaint from her 12-year-old son at his school. The boy showed a contusion with lacerations near his left eye, a laceration on his right palm, and other bruises. Officers documented the injuries after responding with child protective services, as detailed in the arrest affidavit obtained by Law&Crime. Court records confirm the charge of child abuse resulting in no harm. The incident began during a car ride to Gwen Cherry Park. Luna was on the phone with a man the boy believed she was cheating with. When the child interrupted to correct her about the park visit, she slapped his face, pulled his hair, struck the back of his head 18 to 19 times with a small glass bottle, shook him, and tried to slash him with keys, stabbing his palm, police said. At home, the boy told his stepfather about the phone call. After a shower, as he repeated the story, Luna struck his left face again, slammed him against a wall, and grabbed his towel to hold him back. The stepfather intervened, and Luna yelled threats outside his door: 'I want to kill you. You're not my son. Come out the door, and I'll kill you with anything I have.' The boy called his aunt via Instagram, showing his injuries; she corroborated his account. Luna admitted hitting her son's back several times, including once with an open hand, but denied face or head strikes. She posted $5,000 bond on Friday and was released from Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. No hearings are scheduled yet.
