Global Constellation boards animated family film Dragoons

European sales and finance company Global Constellation has partnered with Icon Creative Studio to handle international sales for the upcoming CG-animated feature 'Dragoons.' The project, directed by Shea Wageman, will launch at the European Film Market with an exclusive first-look image. This collaboration follows their work on the Owen Wilson-voiced 'Charlie the Wonderdog.'

Icon Creative Studio, Canada's largest independently owned CG animation company, has reunited with Global Constellation for 'Dragoons,' a family-oriented adventure. The film is directed by Shea Wageman, known for 'Charlie the Wonderdog,' and written and designed by Geoff Taylor. It follows a Dragoon worker at WizCorp who, after a freak accident, transforms into a mighty dragon and discovers that his kind were once rulers of the skies. Shrunken and memory-erased by the wizard-CEO Hex to fuel his empire, the hero, aided by his best friend, must rally others to reclaim their power and ignite a revolution.

Produced by Wageman and Carson Loveday—whose credits include 'Monsters at Work' and 'Young Jedi Adventures'—'Dragoons' builds on Icon's partnerships with Pixar/Disney+, Nickelodeon, and Netflix. Loveday's experience spans projects like 'Transformers: EarthSpark' and 'Super Monsters.' The studio's previous film, 'Charlie the Wonderdog,' is currently in North American theaters through Viva and Cineplex, with an international rollout planned for 2026.

Shea Wageman commented, “’Dragoons’ is about reclaiming your power and rewriting history. We’ve created a visually epic world where the smallest characters can spark the biggest revolutions. We’re thrilled to partner with Global Constellation to bring it to audiences everywhere.”

Fabien Westerhoff of Global Constellation praised the project: “Once again, Icon has crafted a vibrant, high-adventure crowd-pleaser packed with wonder and heart. The exceptional production team behind this film continues to raise the bar in premium animation, creating big, visually spectacular worlds, unforgettable characters, and the kind of cinematic storytelling that resonates with families worldwide.”

Global Constellation's animation lineup also features 'The Last Whale Singer,' now in German theaters with a 2026-27 international release, alongside upcoming titles like the 2D musical 'Viva Carmen' by Sébastien Laudenbach, 'The Last Dinosaur' by Federico Milella, 'The Growcodile' by Joost Van Den Bosch and Erick Verkerk, and 'Mission Granny' by Toni Weiss.
