Former Luleå coach Henrik Stridh nearly joined Timrå IK after last season but instead accepted a role with Kölner Haie in Germany. He has kept the door open for future work with the Swedish club.
Timrå IK contacted Henrik Stridh multiple times after Tommy Samuelsson announced his departure. The two sides discussed the possibility at length, though Stridh had already decided to pursue opportunities abroad.
Stridh left Timrå for Luleå Hockey nine years earlier and remained there until the end of last season. He described Timrå as an attractive option but said he was mentally prepared to try something new outside Sweden.
His new position reunites him with Thomas Berglund at Kölner Haie, where he will serve as assistant coach. Stridh told ST that he would always listen if Timrå offered any role in the future.
