Housing and Settlements Minister Maruarar Sirait affirmed the state must not lose control of three PT KAI land assets in Tanah Abang held by third parties despite having final legal strength. The statement came after inspecting KAI lands in Jakarta on Sunday (5/4/2026) for the people's housing program. The visit involved KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin and Danantara COO Dony Oskaria.
Housing and Settlements Minister Maruarar Sirait inspected PT KAI land assets in West Jakarta, Tanah Abang, and Kampung Bandan on Sunday (5/4/2026), accompanied by KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin and BP BUMN Head兼 Danantara COO Dony Oskaria. The inspection used an inspection train to map lands for the three million houses program under President Prabowo Subianto and Housing Task Force Chair Hashim Djojohadikusumo's guidance.
Maruarar highlighted three KAI asset locations in Tanah Abang legally owned by the state with final court decisions but controlled by third parties. "I affirm the state must not lose to anyone, especially with final legal strength, and especially since it's for the people's interest," he said. He urged KAI and BP BUMN to boldly optimize assets for low-income housing.
"If you lack courage, just stop being a public official," Maruarar added, stressing public officials' responsibility. Meanwhile, PT Astra International plans to build 1,000 rusun units on 0.65 hectares of KAI land near Jakarta Kota Station via CSR, awaiting land legality confirmation.
Bobby Rasyidin stated KAI is ready to inventory settlements along rail tracks and coordinate housing solutions. Dony Oskaria is optimistic that government-SOE synergy will accelerate housing programs in dense areas.
