Two Indonesian celebrities, Isyana Sarasvati and Alyssa Soebandono, have strongly denied rumors of receiving LPDP scholarships amid recent controversies. Isyana clarified that her education was funded by a Singapore scholarship, while Alyssa stated her undergraduate studies were self-funded. These clarifications come as LPDP issues gain public attention.
Jakarta, February 26, 2026 – Isyana Sarasvati, the singer known for "Tetap Dalam Jiwa," issued a clarification via her Instagram Story regarding rumors of receiving an LPDP scholarship. "Hello friends, I want to correct the inaccurate reporting about me as an LPDP scholarship recipient," she wrote. She emphasized, "I want to confirm that I have never received an LPDP scholarship." Isyana also stressed the importance of information accuracy: "Ensure the accuracy of information before publishing it. Thank you for your understanding."
Isyana's educational facts reveal she studied at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) with a scholarship from the Singapore government under the Honours Funded Degree Programme, including collaboration with the Royal College of Music in London. She participated in an exchange program at Tainan National University of the Arts in 2012 and received the RCM Excellence Award in 2015. Isyana graduated with a Bachelor of Music (B.Mus) from NAFA on September 26, 2015, as one of the top graduates. In an interview 11 years ago, she said, "I received the Best Scholarship Graduate award because I was one of the cum laude students." She also denied rumors of completing an S2 in 2015, stating her intent to focus on creating music after S1: "I really want to continue to S2, but I want to create first."
Meanwhile, actress Alyssa Soebandono, commonly known as Icha, also denied similar rumors via a social media comment. "I pursued my S1 at Monash University (self-funded) and S2 with a scholarship at London School of Public Relations," she wrote. She added, "The fact is, I am not an LPDP scholarship recipient and have never registered." This clarification arises amid public scrutiny of LPDP awardees, including controversy involving Dwi Sasetyaningtyas who posted a video expressing pride in her child becoming a foreign citizen, stating "only I am WNI, not my child." Names like Tasya Kamila have also been drawn into related discussions.
