James Harrison predicts career year for Michael Pittman Jr.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison expects Michael Pittman Jr. to post the best season of his career in 2026 after joining the team via trade. Harrison highlighted Pittman's route-running and reliability as key assets for the Steelers offense.

Harrison made the comments during an episode of the Deebo and Joe podcast. He noted that Pittman excels at using his body for positioning, catching with his hands, and finding soft spots in zone coverage.

The Steelers acquired Pittman from the Indianapolis Colts in a seventh-round pick swap just before free agency. They also extended the receiver, securing him for the foreseeable future alongside DK Metcalf under new head coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Pittman's 2023 season remains his career high with 109 catches for 1,152 yards. Harrison and team observers believe the 28-year-old can match or exceed his 2025 output of 80 receptions while fitting the possession-receiver role in Pittsburgh's scheme.
