Jasa Marga projects 250,000 vehicles in peak Lebaran return on March 29

PT Jasa Marga projects the peak Lebaran 2026 return traffic on March 29 with around 250,000 vehicles heading to Jakarta. CEO Rivan A. Purwantono based the forecast on current monitoring trends. The government urges using a 30% toll discount on March 26-27 to distribute traffic.

PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk forecasts the peak Lebaran 2026 return traffic on Sunday, March 29, with about 250,000 vehicles returning to Jakarta. CEO Rivan A. Purwantono shared this after inspecting traffic at the Jasa Marga Toll Road Command Center (JMTC) in Bekasi on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. “Prediksi sementara sesuai dengan tren saat ini ya sekitar 250.000-an lah di tanggal 29 yang akan datang,” he said, translating to a provisional estimate of around 250,000 based on current trends. Earlier projections reached 285,000 vehicles, but after a daily peak of 256,338 on Tuesday, March 24, traffic distribution evened out. To ease congestion ahead, the government offers a 30% toll discount from March 26-27. “Kenapa dari awal juga diskon tarif tol ditempatkan di tanggal 26 dan 27? Karena itu adalah untuk mengurai atau mendistribusikan,” Rivan explained, noting it aims to distribute flows. He advised choosing optimal travel times, avoiding peak afternoon-to-evening hours, and following updates. “Pilih waktu yang tepat, pilih kondisi yang tepat, dan kemudian dengarkan informasi yang disampaikan,” he added. Jasa Marga employs traffic counting and volume-to-capacity ratio (V/C ratio) for dynamic measures like one-way and contraflow systems. The firm stresses vehicle and driver readiness, timing, and rest area evaluations for smooth returns through the holiday end.
