Kit Harington and Sophie Turner are reuniting for the first time since their roles as siblings Jon Snow and Sansa Stark on HBO's 'Game of Thrones,' which ran for eight seasons. In Lionsgate's upcoming gothic horror movie 'The Dreadful,' the pair portray lovers, marking a stark contrast to their previous on-screen family dynamic.

The trailer's logline describes an unnerving tale set in medieval England: Anne and her domineering mother-in-law Morwen struggle to survive on the outskirts of society. When a man from Anne's past returns from war, a curse begins to take shape through a mysterious knight, threatening to destroy them all. Marcia Gay Harden plays Morwen.

Harington and Turner have shared the challenges of transitioning from siblings to romantic leads. Harington told E! News that Turner sent him the script, but he noticed the lovers' dynamic immediately: "I was like, ‘These guys, these are lovers, right?’ I felt very odd about that. But it was a good chance to be with her again and work together… It was slightly embarrassing, having to get on an apple box to kiss her because she’s about a foot taller than me. But other than that, my dignity was pretty intact." He added, "What was lovely is that we got on set together and our friendship completely ignited again. It felt like being with family. It really did."

Turner recounted the experience on 'Late Night With Seth Meyers': "So, I sent the script to Kit, and he kind of sent me a message back going like, ‘Yeah, I’d love to, but this is going to be really fucking weird, Soph.’ And I was like, ‘What is he talking about?’ Then I was reading [the script] and it’s like, ‘Kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex…’ And then I’m like, ‘Oh, shoot, that’s my brother.’ We put it out of our minds, and then we get on set and it’s the first kissing scene, and we are both retching. Like, really, it is vile. It was the worst."

'The Dreadful' is set to hit theaters on February 20.
