Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is delving into former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil's (RK) activities, particularly those linked to alleged corruption in advertisement procurement at Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten (Bank BJB).

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo revealed that investigators uncovered RK's exchanges of billions of rupiah into foreign currencies from 2021 to 2024. "Because there are indeed overseas activities that we are deepening, we are also examining the related currency exchanges," Budi told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih Building in South Jakarta on Friday, January 30, 2026.

The probe extends to RK's domestic and international engagements, including with whom he interacted, the purposes of those interests, and funding sources. "We are further investigating RK's activities both domestically and abroad, including with whom, for what purposes, and the funding sources," Budi added.

Additionally, KPK is scrutinizing communications between Ridwan Kamil and Bank BJB officials during his tenure. Previously, on Thursday, January 29, 2026, KPK examined RK's personal assistant, Randy Kusumaatmadja, at West Java Police Headquarters, regarding the governor's activities and funding. Four other witnesses were questioned on agency service procurement at Bank BJB, including foreign currency exchanges.

On March 13, 2025, KPK named five suspects: Bank BJB Director Yuddy Renaldi, commitment-making official Widi Hartoto, and three agency controllers—Ikin Asikin Dulmanan, Suhendrik, and Sophan Jaya Kusuma. State losses are estimated at Rp222 billion. Investigators plan to gather more witness testimonies to bolster evidence.
