Linda Mwananchi leaders issue tough conditions after Arati tells them to go home

Leaders of Linda Mwananchi within ODM have issued strong rejections against the Linda Ground faction led by Siaya Senator Dr Oburu Oginga. They say they will not reconcile until political decisions made after Raila Odinga's death are reversed. They also demand halting talks with UDA and full implementation of the 10-point agenda.

Leaders of Linda Mwananchi, including Siaya Governor James Orengo and ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, issued tough conditions after Kisii Governor Simba Arati told them to go home. Arati's remarks came on the first day of ODM's three-day Coastal workshop amid political turmoil.

They state they will not reconcile with Senator Oburu Oginga's Linda Ground faction until political decisions post-Raila Odinga's death are reversed. They also demand stopping ODM-UDA talks and full execution of the 10-point agenda from Odinga-Ruto agreements.

The Linda Ground appeal follows MPs Millie Odhiambo and Dr Otiende Amollo claiming Sifuna's ouster was unwise. “Before the National Governing Council meeting, I met Dr Oburu and warned him that move would break the party,” said Dr Amollo.

Dr Oginga urged members to protect ODM and end internal divisions. “We must be loyal to the party and stop internal wrangles because they will destroy it,” he said. He stressed unity for UDA talks and approval at all party levels.
