A 27-year-old man has been arrested in Perumbavoor for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a 46-year-old woman after a theft incident at her home.
Perumbavoor police arrested Ebin Tomy, a native of Nellikuzhy in Kothamangalam, on the charge. The incident took place on July 10 when the accused trespassed into the woman's house while residents were away.
He attempted to break open an almirah and later hid on the premises. Around 7 p.m., he allegedly assaulted the woman upon her return, police said.
The accused rode a motorcycle reportedly stolen from within the Vazhakala police station limits. He has been booked in around 10 cases across various police stations.
