Mark Kaboly predicts Ryan McCollum to back up Zach Frazier

Pittsburgh Steelers beat writer Mark Kaboly believes Ryan McCollum holds the inside track to serve as backup center behind Zach Frazier in 2026.

The Steelers re-signed McCollum to a one-year deal this offseason. They also added Brock Hoffman, who logged 419 of 474 offensive snaps at center last season and 684 snaps there over the past three years.

Kaboly said Monday on The Fan Morning Show that Hoffman and Spencer Anderson can fill in at center but that the team would prefer not to rely on them in that role. He noted McCollum’s prior experience backing up Frazier.

Hoffman’s experience at all three interior line spots and familiarity with coach Mike McCarthy make him the likely favorite for the backup job, according to Kaboly. Training camp will determine the final roster decisions.
