Martha Stewart opens The Bedford restaurant at Foxwoods

Martha Stewart cut the ribbon on The Bedford, her second restaurant, located inside Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut. The opening featured elegant decor reminiscent of her upstate New York farmhouse and drew celebrity guests for demonstrations and tastings.

Martha Stewart inaugurated The Bedford at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut with a ribbon-cutting using oversized scissors, accompanied by elaborate celebrations. Despite its casino location, the restaurant boasts soft green walls and cornicing, creating an ambiance akin to Paris or a stylish living room, specifically inspired by Stewart's Bedford farmhouse in upstate New York. This marks her second eatery, following one in Las Vegas, and complements her ventures including cookbooks, a skincare line, and the Hint home intelligence app. Stewart is renowned for mastering at-home hosting, a skill showcased at the event. Upon arrival, attendees enjoyed chilled lemon cocktails, spring salads, and casino baked oysters from chrome platters. Stewart led a martini-making session, eventually free-pouring the drinks. In the evening, celebrities such as 50 Cent, Christie Brinkley, Candace Bushnell, and Sunny Hostin joined for a pierogi-making demonstration, seafood display, and caviar cart. Passed dishes included pasta limone, mini crab cakes, and “Big Martha’s pierogies,” reinterpreting her classic recipes. Stewart remarked, “Two of my housekeepers are coming soon—I can’t wait to see how they feel,” noting the space's similarity to her home. When questioned about future plans, she stated, “New York,” eliciting cheers.
