On March 6, 2026, the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) held the “Macao Tourism Product Updates in London” session in collaboration with an artist and art group from Macao, supported by the China National Tourist Office in London. The event aimed to showcase Macao's cultural creativity and community vitality to travel trade partners and media, tapping into the European visitor market.
President of Macao art group Myland Culture, Pal LOK Chok, shared projects integrating Macao’s cultural heritage, community life, and art. Macao artist Filipe Dores elaborated on transforming Macao’s tea culture into contemporary art practice, exhibiting his artwork “Timeless Voyage,” which portrays Macao as a hub along the Maritime Silk Road. The session included cultural elements like a “MACAO” cocktail and “MGTO x Myland Culture” souvenirs.
Over 100 Macao and British trade delegates discussed tourism product development. MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes stated: “British visitors can now travel to China for up to 30 days without a visa. Effective from February 2026, the new policy creates favorable conditions for Britons’ multi-destination travel to Macao and the Greater Bay Area.” Director of China National Tourist Office in London, Zhang Li, remarked: “China National Tourist Office in London will shoulder the mission of branding Macao as a travel destination in the United Kingdom.”
British content creator Harry Jaggard, with 9.50 million followers, shared his February multi-destination trip to Macao, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen, promoting visa exemption for British travelers. The Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (APAVT) named Macao its “Preferred Destination 2026.” MGTO has participated in European events including FITUR in Spain in January, roadshows in Portugal in February, and ITB Berlin in March 2026.
