Talks for former WWE producer Brian James, known as Road Dogg, to join TNA Wrestling have stalled, according to a new report. The development comes after earlier rumors of an imminent deal.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that negotiations between TNA and James have stalled. He stated the sides do not appear close to reaching an agreement.
James left WWE in March after seven years as a creative team member. Rumors emerged in June that he would join TNA following the departure of head of creative Tommy Dreamer, with reports suggesting he attended the June 28 Slammiversary pay-per-view.
Delirious, whose real name is Hunter Johnston, currently serves as TNA's head booker. James had previously competed in TNA from 2002 to 2009, winning the NWA World Tag Team Championships twice alongside Konnan.
Neither James nor TNA has commented publicly on the status of any potential move.
