Nequi to suspend services for maintenance on March 23, 2026

Nequi, Colombia's popular digital wallet, will undergo technical maintenance on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 3:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., temporarily suspending all services. The company advises users to complete transactions in advance to avoid disruptions. The update aims to enhance the platform's security and stability.

Nequi announced scheduled maintenance for Monday, March 23, 2026, from 3:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. During this time, users will be unable to access the app or perform operations such as money transfers between users, payments at stores and services, cell phone top-ups, or balance and transaction inquiries. The outage is timed for low-traffic hours to minimize user impact, per the company's official statement. Nequi recommends completing transfers before 3:00 a.m., scheduling payments ahead, and not relying on the platform during that window. Services will resume normally afterward. Such interventions strengthen the infrastructure's security, stability, and operational capacity amid high daily transaction volumes. Separately, Nequi is progressing toward transformation after receiving approval from the Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia to operate as an independent financial entity, detaching from Grupo Bancolombia. This shift aims to solidify its business model with greater autonomy and potential new offerings like loans or insurance, furthering financial inclusion for youth and unbanked populations.
