One killed, three wounded in Fairfield graduation shooting

A shooting at a high school graduation ceremony in Fairfield, California, left one person dead and three others injured on Wednesday night. The incident occurred in the parking lot after the event had concluded.

The victim was an 18-year-old graduate of Sem Yeto High School, pronounced dead at the scene. The injured included an 11-year-old child along with two adults aged 20 and 25, all of whom are expected to recover. Fairfield police said the shooting took place around 7:15 p.m. at the ceremony held at Fairfield High School. No suspects have been identified, and the investigation continues with assistance from the Solano County Sheriff's Office. Mayor Catherine Moy expressed grief in a statement, saying her “heart is breaking for the students and families involved.” A vigil is scheduled for June 12 at Schafer Stadium. Fairfield High School moved its own graduation to Armijo High School on Friday at 6 p.m.
