In a ceremony at the Corporación Cultural de Las Condes, the Piñera Morel Foundation awarded contestable funds to 35 cultural initiatives selected from 280 applications received this year. The Minister of Cultures, Carolina Arredondo, along with Cecilia Morel and Magdalena Piñera, led the event as part of the “La Cultura Llega a la Gente” program. The projects will receive up to 25 million pesos for their development.

The Piñera Morel Foundation (FPM) held a ceremony on Wednesday at the Corporación Cultural de Las Condes to award 35 winning cultural projects from its contestable fund. The event featured the Minister of Cultures, Carolina Arredondo, and FPM directors Cecilia Morel and Magdalena Piñera, within the framework of the “La Cultura Llega a la Gente” program.

The call, opened six months ago, attracted over 280 applications from various regions of the country during 2025. A jury composed of figures from culture and academia conducted an extensive and rigorous evaluation to select the beneficiaries. Each project will receive amounts of up to 25 million pesos to carry out their initiatives.

Magdalena Piñera Morel, FPM director, highlighted the quality of the applications: “It was not an easy task to evaluate more than 280 applications that came from different territories of the country, but that challenge confirmed something fundamental: Chile is a deeply creative and committed country that believes in culture as a motor of unity”.

She added: “We look to 2026 with the hope that it will be a year full of culture, where these initiatives unfold throughout the country, strengthening communities and betting on a better future. We are convinced that if everyone does well, if we have more culture, Chile does well”.

Among the winning institutions are the Fundación de Beneficencia San Jorge, Centro Cultural CEINA, Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino, Universidad de Chile, and Fundación Orquestas de Mujeres de Chile, among 30 other entities. This initiative aims to foster creativity and cultural commitment in communities across Chile.
