Fiscalía Centro Norte will formalize two Haitian citizens linked to Mundo Pam and Cananeen agencies this Thursday for migrant trafficking, money laundering and criminal association.

The Policía de Investigaciones executed search warrants at the travel agencies investigated for events recorded in 2024. As a result of those operations, the two defendants were detained.

The facts under investigation date from 2024 and are not directly related to situations reported by Contraloría in its recent report. The individuals engaged in the illicit trafficking of migrants from Haiti, via the Dominican Republic, to Chile, including minors.

The formalization of charges will take place before the Séptimo Juzgado de Garantía de Santiago on Thursday morning.

Cosa dice la gente

Discussions on X link the formalization of two Haitians to broader criticisms of past and current Chilean governments on Haitian child migration, institutional failures by migration services, and calls for accountability in trafficking cases.
