La governatrice Mara Lezama Espinosa ha annunciato che Fitch Ratings ha alzato il rating creditizio di Quintana Roo da A ad A+. Lo stato si colloca tra i soli tre con prospettive positive tra i 27 valutati dall'agenzia. Gli altri sono Baja California e Baja California Sur. In quattro anni il rating è salito di cinque livelli fino ad A+ con prospettive positive. È il livello più alto da quando Fitch ha iniziato le valutazioni nel 2000. Il Ministero delle Finanze e della Pianificazione, guidato da Martha Parroquín Pérez, ha promosso azioni per rafforzare la riscossione delle entrate e l'efficienza della spesa.
