Robby Snelling to have elbow surgery

Miami Marlins No. 2 prospect Robby Snelling will undergo left elbow surgery this week. Dr. Keith Meister is scheduled to perform the operation in Dallas on Friday.

Snelling felt soreness in his left elbow during a bullpen session on May 12. This came after his major league debut on May 8 and ahead of a planned start in Minneapolis. An MRI confirmed a sprained UCL, leading Miami to place the 22-year-old on the 15-day injured list before moving him to the 60-day list.
