The incident delayed the White House press pool for 30 minutes as they tried to reach Trump's motorcade. A second agent who had already entered the area returned to escort the journalists through the chaos, which was captured on the BBC's live feed from the press pool. Reporters expressed frustration, with one saying, “We have to go!” and another declaring, “U.S. press, we are going!” One person called the scene a “sh*t show.” Additional Chinese officials attempted to stop the group, but the journalists reached the president's convoy.
