Tesla has rapidly expanded its Wall Connector for Business program, with more than 158 new sites coming online globally since early November, adding over 1,250 charging plugs at commercial locations. These installations, funded by businesses themselves, aim to attract EV drivers and potentially generate revenue for property owners. The chargers are compatible with Tesla vehicles and other EVs, broadening access to public charging infrastructure.
Tesla's expansion of EV charging options beyond its Supercharger network has gained momentum. Since early November 2025, over 158 new Wall Connector for Business sites have launched worldwide, installing more than 1,250 Level 2 chargers at various commercial spots. This update comes from Tesla observer Sawyer Merritt, who highlighted on X (formerly Twitter) that these are business-funded initiatives, unlike Tesla's self-financed Superchargers.
The program targets a range of locations, including apartment complexes, workplaces, hospitality venues, fleets, and retail stores. These chargers suit destinations where drivers park for longer periods, providing convenient charging without restricting use to Tesla owners. On its official page, Tesla encourages businesses: “Join our charging network by installing Wall Connectors at your business. Wall Connector is compatible with Teslas and other electric vehicles (EVs). And with millions of EV drivers on the road, offering convenient, reliable EV charging can bring more visitors to your business.”
Installation is streamlined: Businesses work with Tesla Certified Installers, then control site visibility and pricing through Tesla's software. Tesla manages billing and remits revenue to owners, deducting a $0.03 per kWh fee for support and processing. If pay-per-use is not enabled, the software is provided free.
This development fits into Tesla's wider charging ecosystem. Recently, the company started offering white-label Superchargers to businesses and completed its largest Supercharger installation last month. Together, these efforts layer fast DC road charging with destination-based options, steadily increasing global EV plugs.
