Police in outer north Delhi have arrested two men for the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl. The incident occurred on December 20 when the accused lured her to a vacant house, forced her to consume alcohol, and assaulted her. A special investigation team has been formed to probe the case swiftly.
On December 20, the girl's father made a PCR call alleging that the minor had been forcibly fed alcohol. During subsequent inquiry and recording of the victim's statement, a more serious offence was revealed. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Hareshwar Swami said, 'During the medical examination, the girl told the police that she had been sexually assaulted as well.'
According to the girl's statement, she was lured into a vacant house by Narottam (28), who runs a salon. There, he introduced her to his friend Rishabh (26). The two then allegedly forced her to consume alcohol before sexually assaulting her.
A case was registered against the two men under Section 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the POCSO Act, along with Section 70 (gang rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Both accused were arrested following interrogation.
DCP Swami added, 'A special investigation team (SIT) has been constituted to ensure a speedy and time-bound probe. The SIT has been directed to complete the investigation and file the chargesheet as soon as possible.' Further investigation is underway.
