Villa prices in Vellinge have risen most in Sweden

Over five years an average villa in Vellinge has risen in value by just over two million kronor. This marks the highest increase recorded anywhere in Sweden according to a Fastighetsbyrån survey.

The average villa price in Vellinge now stands at 8.6 million kronor, representing a 31 percent rise. The municipality tops the national list thanks to its location near Malmö, Lund and Copenhagen together with a low supply of homes for sale. Karl-Fredrik Wahn at Svensk Fastighetsförmedling in Vellinge notes the steady climb. He highlights strong demand from families seeking safety and good school results. Activity picked up after credit-rule relaxations on 1 April. Between March and May 117 villas changed hands, nearly 40 more than in the preceding three-month period. Prices fell in every third Skåne municipality. Tomelilla recorded the steepest drop at minus nine percent.
