Vizag Film Society pays tribute to S. Janaki

Members of the Vizag Film Society paid homage to legendary playback singer S. Janaki at a condolence meeting held on Friday evening.

The meeting took place at the Visakhapatnam Public Library. Participants observed a two-minute silence and garlanded a portrait of the singer, who had passed away recently at the age of 88.

Society secretary Narava Prakasa Rao spoke about her contributions. He said S. Janaki’s contribution to Indian cinema was unparalleled and that her voice would continue to live through her songs.

A documentary on her life and cinematic journey was also screened during the event.
