24th African athletics championships conclude today with finals

The 24th African Athletics Championships in Addis Ababa conclude today with evening finals. Ethiopian athletes are competing in eight events on the final day.

The championships reach their conclusion today after Ethiopian athletes take part in eight finals scheduled throughout the evening. Gemeda Abate competes in the high jump at 12:30 while Otage Obang throws the javelin at 12:40.

Further events include the women's 3000m steeplechase at 1:00 featuring Wesene Asefa and Almaz Yohannes. Additional finals cover the 400m hurdles, 1500m, 5000m and the women's 400m at 3:00.

Ethiopia has recorded 11 medals so far in the competition.
