Air Canada starts direct Vancouver-Mazatlán route in winter 2026-2027

Mexico's Sinaloa state will boost its international air connectivity with a new direct Mazatlán-Vancouver route operated by Air Canada starting December 15, 2026. Governor Rubén Rocha Moya said the link shows airlines' trust and Canadian tourists' preference for the state. The route will run until April 9, 2027, with two weekly flights.

Sinaloa Governor Rubén Rocha Moya announced Air Canada's new direct Mazatlán-Vancouver route, starting December 15, 2026, and running through April 9, 2027. Flights will operate Tuesdays and Fridays. “We continue strengthening Sinaloa's international connectivity. For the first time, Air Canada arrives in our state with the direct Vancouver-Mazatlán route [...] This arrival reflects the trust of international airlines and the preference of Canadian tourism for our state, generating more tourism, investment, and shared prosperity for Sinaloa,” Rocha Moya detailed.

The route departs Vancouver at 08:25 and arrives in Mazatlán at 14:00; the return flight leaves at 14:55 and lands in Vancouver at 18:55. Sinaloa Tourism Secretary Mireya Sosa Osuna credited the achievement to coordinated efforts with Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA). “The opening of new air routes from Canada to Sinaloa is the result of coordinated work, strategic vision, and ongoing efforts promoted by our governor,” she stated.

Air Canada executive for Latin America and the Caribbean, Luis Noriega Benet, highlighted the airline's commitment to Mexico. “We are proud to continue growing in Mexico, a key market for Air Canada, reaffirming our commitment to connect the country with the world through Canada,” he explained. OMA CEO Ricardo Dueñas noted the group's investment plan to boost connectivity. As Canada's flagship carrier, Air Canada enhances Mazatlán's visibility in Mexico's Pacific region.
